True Love

The Bible makes a staggering claim: “God is love” (1 John 4:8). Not merely that God shows love or gives love, but that love flows from His very nature. In a world where love is often confused with emotion (feelings) performance (if you love me, then I’ll ...) or approval (what have you done for me lately?), Advent reminds us of a deeper truth—true love has a name, and His name is Jesus.
Throughout this Advent season, we have seen that True Hope is found in God’s promises, True Peace is found in God’s presence, and True Joy is found in God’s salvation. This Sunday, we see that all of these flow from Love—God’s unconditional, self-giving love for you and me, revealed in Christ.
